I am sure that Global Warming believers are going to accuse Vaclav Klaus of dimentia or worse.

While I believe there is a man made component to climate change and that CO2 does make a difference, I do not believe it is the problem that Al Gore and the rest of the world would have us believe. You want to save the planet? There are a lot more important things that need to be done now, far more important and critical than global warming.

The fact is the world has been in an ice age for a long time and human civilization occurred during a momentary ebb in that process. Global cooling is eventually coming too. In fact, we have been in a mild cooling cycle for several years now.

The only way to reduce CO2 effectively, assuming it is such a problem, is to come up with alternative engergy sources that do not produce CO2. Kyoto, Cap and Trade, and other “climate legislation and treaties” are just a complete waste of money and time. Worse than that, they take away from efforts that could really make a difference (like habitat preservation, stopping over fishing, trade in endanged species, etc.).

At this point, the Lisbon Treaty he couldn’t stop is a greater threat than global warming and its policy malcontents.
