I figure Larry Arnhart had to sit on the pot for a long time to come up with this thesis. His book…. Darwinian Conservatism.

  1. Carson Holloway’s The Right Darwin is a great response to Arnhart’s book.

  2. I have review of Arnhart’s book coming out in the Review of Politcs. Larry is a very nice fellow, and his book offers some important insights on human behavior and policy. However, I don’t think–as I argue in the review–that Darwinan evolution adequately grounds the moral principles of a political regime.

I’ve read the Holloway book, too. To me, the suggestion of a Darwinian conservatism or liberalism is so weak you could blow it over with a straw.
