10 Rebel Yells to “College football open thread”

  1. Mark Says:

Illinois beat Michigan State? Holy crap.

  2. Ray Ward Says:

Tonight, for the first time since 2004, Tulane returns to its Dome home. It probably won’t be as raucous as the Saints’ homecoming last Monday. But then, Tulane’s fans will have the pleasure of getting re-acquainted with a venerable college-football tradition: their very own marching band! The opponent is SMU.

  3. JohnInMontgomery Says:

Yes, Michigan State lost, and started a fight after the game. They’ve always seemed to have thug players and even worse fans. I always root against them.

  4. QD Says:

Ole Miss beating UGA at halftime? Surely the end draweth nigh…

  5. Fr Martin Fox Says:

I was at ND for the game!

  6. vince Says:

But next Saturday’s game of the week is Oregon at Cal with potentialy huge BCS implications. The Ducks looked great in pounding ASU (much like Cal did the week prior) and ought to have some momentum heading down to Berkley. The winner should have a good shot at dethroning USC later in the season. Go Ducks! Btw, good ND win for all you Irish fans. No let down there.

  7. Fr Martin Fox Says:

ND’s was a good win, but the defense needs to buck up; ND should have given Purdue’s offense more trouble.

  8. Joe Gator Says:

The real game of the week is when LSU comes into Gainesville to take a beating from my Gators.

  9. Suzanne the Sooner Fan Says:

Vince, Oregon shouldn’t even be considered for anything BCS since OU actually BEAT them (I’m trying to be as charitable as I can).

  10. vince Says:

Suzanne, the game’s over. OU lost. They gave up 500 yards to the Ducks. Stoops is a whiner. Go try and beat Texas Saturday. ;-)
