David Kopel has some interesting information on Father Pfleger, another spiritual advisor to Senator Barack Obama, over at the Volokh Conspiracy.

I do not have much of a beef on the liberal social doctrines of Pfleger, Meeks, or Wright (in spirit). I disagree with their methodology and some of the message–but I agree we have a moral duty to help the poor and destitute (even if we disagree on the proper means of doing so). Too bad they do not realize that promoting private property is critical for raising the prospects of the poor.
My revulsion to Wright is due to his angry and irrational anti Americanism (along with his blantant hypocrisy in living in a million dollar house in a gated white community). Whether Father Pfleger shares those anti American views of Wright is unclear to me (although his enthusiastic support of Farakhan is very troublesome).
