Where was security? Why didn’t the facial recognition software pick them up and alert somebody? What kind of casino is the Pope running here? How did they avoid the ESA (Eucharistic Security Agency) screeners, not to mention the Predator drones an dthe sniper teams? Why didn’t the computer spit out their names when it ran them against the Watch List? How were they able to forge the necessary identity papers? How did they get over the border fence and into the Green Zone? Where is Lou Dobbs when you need him? Dammit, if we can require ID to vote, surely a simple ID check, DNA screen, 50-question belief review and eyeball scan in order to receive communion isn’t too much to ask!
(Also, if people had to open their mouths for communion, the software could do a quick review of their dental charts as a backup…..)

Are the links broken? I can’t get them to come up.

Two points:
1. The Holy Father could have prevented this situation; he didn’t. Those of us who say that pro-abort Catholic politicians should be denied communion (Cardinal Egan, Archbiship Burke, Bishop Bruskewitz and Canon law notwithstanding) haven’t a leg to stand on.
2. Life’s too short to read Vox Nova. Especially when it’s a defense of political support for abortion, read right after lunch.

Paul–
Nice dig at Vox Nova. However, you wil find we are all fully orthodox over there (don’t pick and choose based on ideology). Nor do we make outraegous and despicable comments about “the acquiescence to abortion of prelates like Archbishop Wuerl.”

MM-
Is that something Deal said?

No, Feddie, it’s something Paul said on another site.

Good to know you’re still reading Pro Ecclesia, MM. We’ll eventually get you straightened out.
