Bristol Palin is pregnant, just like Obama’s mom
As is well-know by now, Bristol Palin, Governor Palin’s 17 year-old daughter, is pregnant. The McCain-Palin campaign released this information because of the completely inane speculations of the Far Left blogosphere about Governor Palin’s pregnancy. Bristol, who needs our prayers and respect, has chosen life, and will marry the baby’s father.
There is a certain irony in all this: Ann Dunham (b. Nov. 29, 1942) was 18 when she gave birth to Barack Obama II on August 4, 1961. Thus, it is likely that Ann was pregnant at 17 with a child sired by a 24 year-old Kenyan exchange student.
Life presents us with certain hardships, some of which are the consequences of our actions. These are the times at which the exercise of virtue becomes the most difficult as well as the most rewarding. Thankfully, there are still many Ann Dunhams and Bristol Palins residing in our communities. We have much to learn from them.

Have you seen the wonderful Vox Nova on this issue? Priceless.
Great article in Time about Bristol Palin and her home town.

BTW–Kudos to Barack Obama. You heard me. Sen. Obama shows both class and judgment. Prehaps some of his followers should do the same? http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2008/09/the_decency_of_barack_obama.asp
This is a plus. As Mark Steyn points out in his recent best seller, America Alone, if our western civilization is demographically to survive in the increasingly “hostile to the west†islamic world — and not end up like the sinking European populations — these are the precise people (the Bristol Palins’) we should thank for increasing their progeny.

wow
Palin and the Bloggers [Byron York]
Here in St. Paul, I was on NPR this evening with a man named Michael Carey, who is a columnist and former editorial page editor for the Anchorage Daily News. We started talking, of course, about the day’s Palin news — the fake baby story and the real baby story. As far as the fake baby story was concerned, Carey told me that the rumors were going around in Alaska a few months ago, not long after the birth of Sarah Palin’s fifth child. He told me that Daily News reporters and editors explored the story quite extensively, and, as Carey said on NPR, “could find no basis for it except that people who didn’t like Sarah Palin believed it.” He told me that Daily News reporters talked at length to the Palins about it — Carey said the Palins were actually eager to talk about the rumor because they knew how much it had spread around Alaska. He also said Daily News reporters looked into the medical angle of the rumor, which included talking to at least one doctor involved, and again found nothing to support the story. In the end, Carey told me, the newspaper became “convinced that it was not true.”
What is amazing about all this is how making just one phone call to a man like Carey could have given some of the bloggers at The Atlantic and DailyKos pause before they wrote so extensively about it. Why didn’t they do that?

Becaise these Obama supporters are dishonest and think anything is justified if it helps get Barack Obama elected.
“Bristol, who needs our prayers and respect, has chosen life, and will marry the baby’s father.”
“Chosen life”? Why are you using the language of the pro-choicers? If you are pro-life, there is no choice. There is only one option, life.
Why are we applauding this girl and her family for not aborting this baby? If they are pro-life, there was no decision to be made. They are doing the bare minimum. Praising them is like praising people for not beating their kids. Those kind of low standards may be fine for pro-choicers but if we are to promote family values we need to have higher standards.
